Biography

The unstoppable Swedish power-house NOCTURNAL RITES continues with another masterpiece of melodic metal called “The 8th Sin”. Formed in 1990, their 8th studio album is worth a few sins. It’s full of Lust, Gluttony and Pride, but stands above of any Wrath, Greed, Sloth or Envy – the 8th not so deadly sin is just a deluxe blend of melodic Metal and Hard Rock in the NOCTURNAL RITES way. “The 8th Sin” is offering a slightly more modern sound with harsh riffs, great choruses and trademark guitar extravaganza from the guitar slinger duo Nils Norberg and Fredrik Mannberg. But old fans shouldn’t be afraid of any changes, it’s still 110% NOCTURNAL RITES! Jonny Lindqvist is one of the best singers of the whole genre with a powerful voice that makes the opening track “Call Out To The World“ and first video song “Never Again“ majestic hymns and he also has the passion to touch your soul with the piano ballad “Me”. And the tight rhythm section of Nils Eriksson and Owe Lingvall lay down a groove that will please very head banger.
After a successful support tour with Gamma Ray, a headliner tour in Japan, another support tour with Nightwish in Scandinavia and countless headliner shows in their home country to promote the last album “Grand Illusion”, NOCTURNAL RITES are ready to present their latest effort live this summer on some festivals to be followed by a tour in autumn. So don’t be greedy and join these sinners for the 8th time.
Two more bonus tracks will see the light in Japan and on a Sweden-only single for the track “Never Again”. The video for “Never Again” will be directed by the band’s drummer Owe Lingvall who set up his own video production company Village Road Film last year (Wolf “I Will Kill Again”, Carnal Forge "Burning Eden", Morgana Lefay “I Roam” and nearly all NR videos).
