Biography

Who are we?

Tear your heart out and put it into the music. That’s what Torment is all about. Take bits and pieces from all the emotions of the band members and rip apart almost every form of music, put them back together, then stand back and watch this monster come alive.

Torment was formed February 2005 by four musicians longing to create something different. Tired of the same old stereotypical music and bands that fall apart, the mission was on to create something new... uncontrollable and inspirational... creating a new path for others to follow.

Torment combines the soulful, warm, mood setting tone of the acoustic guitar with tribal rhythmic percussion, bone crunching distortion and earth shattering bass. All topped off with vocals that will leave you torn between two worlds.

Interesting Facts

Torment is stage-friendly and their professionalism has grown in leaps

and bounds over the past year.

Torment will be releasing their 1st album this year, based on an ever

increasing crowd base.

They are in the process of shooting a music video for MK89.

They have been interviewed in various SA publications including Music Maker,

Rocking SA, SA Bassist, SA drummer and have appeared on TUKS FM.

Torment has just returned from a tour to Namibia as

they were invited to play the National Amphi New Years gig in

Swakopmund for a crowd of over 6000 people.

Torment has also played Southern Cross music Festival and it is ranked

highly amongst their greatest acheivements.

Torment has just played MotherFudd festival.

Their lead singer is originally the founding member of CRYET who toured South Africa a few years ago and appeared at Doors for their tour.

Torment’s list of bands that they have been asked to accompany (for gigs) include, Chromium, Inersha, Knave, Hellphones, Deity’s muse, Insek to name but a few.

Their mixture of soft and hard rock with metal riffs gives a whole new dimension to gigs.

Hey Aaron - all cool bro ... we dont need the whole world to like our music ... cos we're not looking to be commercal - we're just looking to do what makes us happy ... and in that way we find fans that dig us for the way e feel about our music ... likeminded individuals ... else we'd be another band selling out :) So shot for the honesty!
