Biography

If one had to describe the Brisbane heavy metal quintet, Embrace Eternity, in just a single word, then that word would be ‘focused’.

After having made an impact on the metal scene since their very first live show in 2006, and having worked so hard to establish a name for themselves; Embrace Eternity have recreated the mold, and set new standards for bands in the underground metal culture. By approaching music with an open mind and improvising a great amount of detail toward their live performances. The band attempts to combine so many ingredients into one explosive and contagious experience, which has definitely proved that there is still hope left for heavy metal music in Australia.

Upon the decision to take up the recording duties for their first album release, Alex Brierley (Bass) and Gareth Graham (Guitar), soon realized that they had to overcome various hurdles within the albums production, by venturing into uncharted territory, which would either determine the bands success or failure. While tensions between the band members rose to unprecedented levels during the recording process, they persisted in showing their strengths, where old-fashioned hard work and determination is slowly paying off in the form of new loyal fans from all corners of the globe.

The idea behind Embrace Eternity's image is to incorporate elements inspired from various influences, backgrounds and personalities, as it is these characteristics that are responsible for the bands catalogue of songs. While at the same time trying to present a freshly created idea of audio and visual feastings which fuel the bands love for metal; these characteristics can be portrayed in their 2010 album release which is accompanied by a DVD Documentary titled '1 Part South African, 4 Parts Australian’.

Like many bands, Embrace Eternity are a constant evolving act who have accomplished and steadily made a name for themselves, but still have a great deal of metal fans to win over. The quintet have certainly proven themselves to be worthy of musicians, through the messages conveyed in their album artwork which depicts their position in the music scene - it marks the beginning of a tough adventure for the band, especially when they persist on making their own personal mark in music - “The road to success is long, hard and difficult, but we will not be deterred from attempting the journey".

“An Embrace Eternity live show is something the band puts a large amount of work into”, says frontman Brad Swart. "One thing that annoys me is that a lot of bands out there, local and international, say things such as ‘We promise you the most energetic live show, or, we'll rip your faces off and make your ears bleed’ but they basically just stand on stage and do nothing. We like to take a different approach; if people who see us live can't enjoy our style of music, then maybe they can enjoy our live performances, as they truly are our time to shine".

Taken from a recent interview with the guitarist Adrian Rosa, he explains that "being in a band is not only about making music; its about being a family and sharing an unbreakable bond with each other. And this is what we share amongst the 5 of us. This is what helps drive us to be successful. We are determined and motivated in every way that is possible. I would never give this band up for anyone, if there ever is a closer bond than being a family, then we definitely have it".
