Biography

ShadowCraft was formed in January 2007 when Melissa responded to an advertisement Will placed in a local newspaper. At the time, Will was putting together a project studio. ShadowCraft is based in Cape Town, South Africa.

Melissa has performed in various bands since a young age and also enjoyed a stint overseas. Will was once a professional guitarist, left the industry in pursuit of his career, and started performing again two years ago. At the end of 2006 he decided to quit his then band and establish a project band for the purpose of producing his own material. The project took off at a rapid pace, fuelled by unrelenting creative drive and a devoted, professional work ethic. ShadowCraft’s music is influenced primarily by contemporary goth and goth-metal bands, although influences are far-reaching, extending to genres such as trip-hop and electronica. All music and lyrics were written by Will in collaboration with Melissa. All instruments were played and recorded by Will, who also performed the subsequent processing. All songs were recorded in Will’s home studio and produced using Cubase 4, Sony Soundforge and iZotope.
