Namuh - Biography The band never lost any members and have been friends for many years prior to Namuh,in mid 2006 Namuh was joined by ex-chi turntablist Penyo(Dj FLUX) which brought a whole new sound to the band,creating better fills and more variety to the band.,giving namuh a whole new sound.Namuh is based on a hardcore/grunge style of music,with progressive sounds,fat bass lines and screecthing guitars with and overlay of mad turntables..and solid drumming ranging from funky grooves to thrashing double bass.Namuh is a band who are all friends and who loves music,we are here because we can be.. Namuh is a pretoria based band with a original sound loosely described as Hard-Grunge-electro. Formed in early 2005 with a vision to bring something new to the genre.We have evolved into a successful yet growing band,with dedicated followers all over gauteng. Driven by passion, we are determined and hard working. Our second single ..Stick in the mud.. has been well received and is receiving regular airplay on Tuks FM 107.2, creating excitement for our soon to be released 5 track EP. We are continuing to gig extensively and tour as much as possible to promote ourselves and expand our fan-base.We would like to create a culture around our music, an alternative direction which people can relate to. Our music is our voice we want the world to hear. Our aim was to create something which appealed to the masses but still maintained our artistic freedom and unique Raw-core style. Namuh is fueled by who we are and what we stand for. This is portrayed in thought provoking, socially conscious and challenging lyrics. Invigoratingly catchy and heavy guitar matched with solid bass and explosive drum beats encompass an energy and sound the band prides itself on. The addition of DJ Flux has added an exciting new dimension to the overall sound and appeal of the band, elevating the mood and intensity of each song. A list of our achievements to date : 2 Singles on Tuksfm 107.2 2nd place finals for Battle for Woodstock(2006)Televised on MK89 1st place Demofilter competition ( Gods of Rock New Years Party 2005) Shared the stage with many of S.A's best bands including Fokofpolisiekar,Pestroy,16 Stitch,The Narrow..,supporting many local starting bands all over gauteng.
