Biography

A new band hails from South Africa... we are known only as MUNK. We started it all a few months ago when Yuri Zager returned from London, UK where he was performing as a solo artist, after his work with Ashen as a frontman a few years before. He met up with a talented lead guitarist named Darren, famous from his work on Jo Day BAND's first 3 albums. Later the addition of our bassist Joe sealed and defined the style of hard rock/metal that will forever be known as MUNK. Joe played in numerous bands including the famous Durban based band Dementia. Finally we completed our line-up recently with James who is an exceptional drummer with a wealth of experience and talent. Genre does not define our music, it is a fusion of different types of metal, punk, rock, hard rock and other genres too.
