Biography
Blowing onto the live band scene like the smell of rotting cat on a Sunday afternoon comes Clone. They are a mish-mash of various has-beens from some of Durban's lesser-known and now defunct bands and some new faces who are sure to become faceless office clerks once this band has taken the inevitable slip into obscurity.

Formed in 2004 these 4 clowns reckoned they would have one last stab at the ebola-ridden dead horse known as the Durban rock scene. As luck would have it they seem to have stumbled across something which could well earn them enough money to cover petrol to the Winston. When these guys strap on their instruments and plough once more through their noisy and generally sloppy set they remind us that there is more to this rock scene business than the intense boredom that masquerades itself as pretensiousness, prevalent in many live acts in recent months.

These guys are laughing at you and me, but more importantly at themselves. They couldn't give a toss about radio play, they just want to rock, and if you can't have a good time at their show then you are a lost cause.

Their sound is reminiscent of bands who dominated the so-called "Haggis punk" era of the early 80's, an unsuccessful fusion of punk-rock with virtually any other style of music that the bands thought they could play. It was this venture that left the entire punk genre of the 80's shivering in a corner like a dying puppy, and it is likely that the result of this Neo-Haggism will be the same today.
